The Fine Tuned Philosophy

At Fine Tuned Solutions, we don't just fix instruments; we restore the connection between the musician and their craft. Our workshop operates on the belief that technical precision is the foundation of artistic expression. Whether it's a vintage tube amplifier that has lost its characteristic "growl" or a boutique guitar that doesn't quite feel right under the fingers, our mission is to eliminate the mechanical barriers to your creativity. We combine old-world craftsmanship with modern diagnostic engineering to ensure every repair is definitive.

Located in Richmond Estate, Cape Town, we have become a trusted partner for professional touring musicians, recording studios, and dedicated hobbyists alike. We understand that your gear is often your most prized possession and your primary tool of trade. That's why every item that hits our bench undergoes a rigorous assessment before a single screw is turned.

Technical Excellence & Accuracy

Our workshop is equipped with industrial-grade diagnostic tools including Tektronix oscilloscopes and Fluke 87V multimeters, allowing us to see what others might only hear. From tracing complex parasitic oscillations in vintage circuits to measuring fret heights within 0.01mm using precision calipers, we leave nothing to chance. We specialize in component-level troubleshooting that requires a deep mastery of both electronics and musicality.

By maintaining a clean, temperature-controlled environment, we ensure that delicate wooden instruments are stabilized during the repair process. This commitment to detail is why Fine Tuned Solutions is the premiere destination for pro-audio restoration in the Western Cape. We don't believe in "quick fixes"—we believe in technical solutions that last a lifetime.

The Hands Behind the Bench

Watch the Workshop in Action

Founded and led by Andy Dalton, Fine Tuned Solutions brings over 15 years of bench-level repair experience to Cape Town. Specializing in valve amplification (Marshall, Fender, Vox) and precision lutherie, Andy combines analog circuit diagnostics—using dual-trace oscilloscopes and signal generators—with traditional woodworking techniques to restore gear to factory or stage-ready specs.

What Musicians Say

"Andy is the only tech I trust with my 1964 Strat. His attention to fret geometry and nut relief is second to none in Cape Town. Definitive work every single time."

— Mark S. (Session Guitarist)

"I brought in a Vox AC30 that had been dormant for years. Andy’s diagnostic approach saved me a fortune by fixing the circuit rather than replacing it. Incredible ears."

— David L. (Studio Owner)

"Standard setups usually take a week elsewhere. Fine Tuned got my bass back to me in 3 days, perfectly intonated for our tour. Highly professional service."

— Sarah J. (Touring Bassist)
